Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Level Up Quickly Guide
Leveling up not only Rex, but also the rest of your party is of paramount importance in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, as it allows you to venture forth into the furthest reaches of map areas in the game. Throughout Xenoblade Chronicles 2, you'll find that enemies throughout maps don't level with your party, but are instead set at fixed levels. This means that you can run into some of the most powerful enemies in the game while Rex is merely level 5, so you'll need to level up quickly if you want to explore areas of the map without fear.
Earning XP in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 actually isn't a matter of undertaking side quests in the game, but it's instead found through pure combat. The side quests spread throughout the game actually don't reward Rex and his party with all that much XP, and are quite frequently little more than fetch quests, so it's much more time effective to head out into the wilds and take down enemies that are as near to the level of your party as possible.
When you're in the heat of battle, you want to make sure to keep fights as brief as possible, and take advantage of any weaknesses that your enemy has. This means checking the symbol on the right of their name card, and switching to a Blade that inflicts the corresponding damage with special Driver Art attacks. It also means chaining together combo attacks, and if you need help on executing these, head over to our combat guide near the top of the article.
We should note that you'd be leveling up to purely take down more powerful enemies, as the various quests of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 actually don't have level requirements. The level of the characters in your party is purely combat-oriented, and so it makes sense that the main way to level up would be through testing your mettle in combat.
Don't forget that you can also level up your entire party in one go by staying in an inn overnight, for the maximum stay possible. By staying in an inn overnight, your party can level up by combining all the XP together that they've earned over the past day, and using it all to level up again. It's basically a shortcut to leveling up quickly, so don't forget to rest in an inn once you're done after a day of combat.
Since Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a massive game, going well beyond a hundred hours in total, there's obviously going to be a grind to rise up the levels. Keep at it though, as once you're past roughly level 20, you'll find that you can overpower the majority of enemies roaming around the landscape.
