Vampyr Mesmerize Skill Guide
Firstly, what is the Mesmerize Skill in Vampyr? It’s a passive ability that increases as the game unfolds, and it enables Dr. Jonathan Reid to feed on the blood of various innocent citizens throughout London. Keep in mind that feeding on a citizen’s blood immediately kills them in Vampyr, and this can ultimately have unforeseen consequences on the overall community that they’re a part of.
But if you’re willing to take the risk and feed on someone’s blood in Vampyr, decreasing the safely of a district in the process, there’s a ton of rewards to be gained for Reid. You’ll gain a large payout of experience points whenever you feed on someone’s blood, leading to Reid able to level up his various Skills increasingly quickly.
But, how do you go about increasing your Mesmerize Skill level in Vampyr? The Mesmerize Skill isn’t like your other Skills in Vampyr, which you can level up with experience points every time you rest on a bed in your hideout as Reid, and it’s instead tied purely to your progress throughout the main storyline of Vampyr.
The only way to level up your Mesmerize Skill in Vampyr is to simply complete the main quests. For example, after you finally reach Whitechapel in the game and talk with nurse Dorothy Crane, Reid’s Mesmerize Skill will increase to level 2. It’s a long, slow process, but this is unfortunately the only way to increase the critical skill in the game.
The Mesmerize Skill dictates which characters you can and can’t suck the blood from. For example, if a character is healthy, their level is going to be in the higher bracket, such as level 5, and Reid will therefore need a Mesmerize level of 5 in order to entrance them and then suck their blood. We’d recommend powering through the main story quests of the game, so you can return to healthier areas in London and extract as many XP points as you can from the local population.
