How to water the plant in Vampyr might just be one of the most intriguing mysteries of Dontnod's new action-RPG, and you'll have quite a journey ahead of you if you want to unlock the Unlife is Strange Achievement/Trophy. In this Vampyr Plant guide, we'll be detailing where you need to go in London in order to track down a fresh source of water, so you can bring the plant back to life.
If you instead need help with anything else to do with Vampyr, you’ll want to check out our Vampyr guides hub. It’s here that you can find all the information you need on getting to grips with everything the action-RPG throws at you in the opening hours, including combat, conversation, and more.
How to Water the Plant in Vampyr
While hiding his true nature in the Pembroke Hospital under the protection of Doctor Swansea, Jonathan Reid is given his own study. If you explore the room, you'll come across the plant pictured just below, finding it in dire need of a good watering. If you press A/X when prompted to inspect the plant, Reid will exclaim that the plant is dying, and it obviously needs water in order to survive.
If you’re thinking there’s a source of water in the hospital (or if Reid is going to water the plant using his blood) then you’re unfortunately mistaken. For the only source of water that we’ve uncovered in Vampyr so far lies within the West End district, right near the borderline between the district itself and Whitechapel. In other words, it’s nowhere near the hospital.
It’s actually going to be incredibly difficult to reach this area in the opening hours of Vampyr, because basically every enemy between Reid and the location is far more powerful than our newborn vampire. We’d recommend levelling up, and waiting until your at least level 15 before you make the perilous journey across London to the edges of the West End district.
Once you’ve gold hold of the water at the final location, your journey to heal the plant is almost complete. Now all you need to do is make it back to the Pembroke Hospital safe and sound (remember, Vampyr doesn’t have a fast travel system), and interact with the plant, opting to water it when prompted. You’ll then have to wait a total of three days in order for the plant to fully heal, at which time you’ll be awarded the ‘Unlife is Strange’ Trophy/Achievement.
