Evo 2024 sets the stage for another year of exciting fighting game reveals and competition
The tournament has just wrapped up its annual reveal, giving us an idea of what games are taking the main stage.
Evo 2024- the world's biggest fighting game tournament - has revealed the line-up of games that'll take the main stage later this year in Las Vegas. Even if you don't care about the competitive side of gaming, those with a taste for exciting new reveals and announcements should mark their calanders.
Games featured include the following:
- Street Fighter 6
- Tekken 8
- Guilty Gear Strive
- Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising
- Under Night In Birth [Sys Celes]
- Mortal Kombat 1
- King of Fighters 15
- Street Fighter III: Third Strike
In prior years, developers who have had games featured on the main stage have taken the opportunity to announced and tease future DLC releases, as well as entirely new games! For example, last year had new character trailers for Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 during the Sunday finals, whereas Garou: City of the Wolves gave us a peak of gameplay for the very first time.
This year, the event is being moved over to the Las Vegas Convention Center. It's a bigger venue, and one that allows the organisers to open up the show floor for the full three days, allowing folks to play casual matches and explore the different booths even as the finals are ongoing.
“After a record-setting Evo in 2023, we’re excited to bring an even bigger experience to the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center for Evo 2024,” said Rick Thiher, General Manager of Evo. “We’re in a blessed era with multiple new fighting games being released, and Evo is excited about building global destinations for players and fans to celebrate them.”
