Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Guide

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp eases you into its simple routine. It's like the Animal Crossing games you remember from the past, only now the familiar real-time timers are visible. You have a real sense of how much time things take to refresh, rather than sitting around and guessing.

At the very beginning of the game, you'll have to choose an Animal Crossing Pocket Camp campsite, based around a number of factors. There's the sporty campsite, natural campsite, cool campsite, and the cute campsite, each of which has its own benefits.

For example, if you take a look at the Natural Campsite just below, you'll see that it features Goldie as the chosen character, a loveable dog. Cycle through all the available options, and take a look at which Animal Crossing Pocket Camp campsite might suit you best.

Soon after, you'll have a number of areas that you're able to travel to with your villager. There's Saltwater Shores, a beach where you can collect fish or seashells. There's Sunburst Island, which has an assortment of bugs to catch. The Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Market Place is likely where you'll spend a decent chunk of time, as it has ever-rotating shops for clothes, shoes, and more. OK Motors is where you'll go to for all your camper customization needs. Breezy Hollow is the best area for fruit trees to shake. Lost Lure Creek, like the beach, is another swell place for fishing. Last but not least is Shovelstrike Quarry. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Shovelstrike Quarry costs 20 leaf tickets to enter, or five or more players vouching for you. There's not a lot to do there except mine for gold, silver, ruby, and other gems, but the rewards are valuable.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp tips and tricks

  • Trees that drop fruit take three hours to refresh with new fruits, but if you have fertilizer on hand, you can rapidly speed up the process.
  • Bugs on trees and fish in water refresh fairly quickly, it's easy to farm them if you leave an area and come back shortly after.
  • If you're not having luck finding a particular fruit, bug, or fish, checking the Market to find what you need is essential. You can also put spare goods on the Market yourself too.
  • The best time to go to the Shovelstrike Quarry is when it's newly refreshed and offering a monetary reward of bells. You'll know this because the pouch of bells on the map screen for the area's icon will be shimmering with gold.
  • Remember to check your mailbox frequently and hit complete in your Goals list to get rewards. It's an easy thing to forget, but it's the only way to get rewards. And be careful: wait too long to redeem, and you might lose out on them all together.
  • Remember to give Cyrus a visit if you'd like to order some new furniture for your Animal Crossing campsite.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Special Events Guide

Just a week after Animal Crossing Pocket Camp first launched, Nintendo announced the Holiday Event for the game, a limited-time event that would be running from November 30 for the game. This special Holiday Event for Pocket Camp adds special Candy Canes for request rewards from animal villagers, and the event also brings Holiday-themed furniture with it, which you can earn if you collect enough Candy Canes from the various villagers in the game.

The special Holiday Event for Animal Crossing Pocket Camp launching so soon after the debut of the main game means that there are bound to be additional events for the game, at some point in the future. We'll keep an ear out for any news of upcoming events from Nintendo, and update these Pocket Camp guides whenever a new event arrives in the game.
