Zynga knows exactly what you want. More FarmVille.

Zynga has just released the third expansion pack for uber-popular Facebook game Farmville. Lighthouse Cove now joins English Countryside and Lady Gaga-themed GagaVille in the time management farming sim, and Zynga explain that this is all part of giving gamers what they want.

In case you were curious, the newest update brings a "New England autumn theme" to the game - new crops, animals and buildings designed with falling leaves in mind. (We're guessing they mean more in terms of colours and less in terms of the best roof pitch to avoid sag.)

In a recent interview with Gamasutra, Farmville general manager Nate Etter explained the company's simple approach: "For every content update or expansion, we do it with the sole purpose of entertaining and having fun with our players, and bringing them more of what they love."

And that's all it is, really. Etter explains that interacting with the game's users through local playtests, online Q&As and the game's forums means the developers know exactly what players are looking for. Then it's just a matter of delivering it.

"We try to bring something new that delights our players every week, whether it’s a smaller update or something as big as Lighthouse Cove," Etter continues.

Now, if only all games companies were that thoughtful, we wouldn't have anything to complain about.
