Zynga ends copyright lawsuit with Vostu

Zynga's told VG247 it has settled with Brazilian social games start-up Vostu over copyright claims that the latter infringed the company's "creative works."

The FarmVille and CityVille creator took legal action over Vostu in June after it said it had "brazenly appropriated the copyright-protected aspects of Zynga’s games (as well as almost every other aspect of Zynga’s business)."

Now, both parties have settled, with Vostu making a a monetary payment to Zynga, as well as making change to its games.

"Zynga and Vostu have settled the copyright lawsuits and counterclaims against each other in the United States and Brazil," a Zynga statement sent to us reads.

"As part of the settlement, Vostu made a monetary payment to Zynga and made some changes to four of its games. The parties are pleased to have settled their disputes and to now put these matters behind them."
