Zanki Zero Brings Danganronpa's Unique Sense of Humor to the RPG Space

AXE OF THE BLOOD GOD | Ni No Kuni 2, Ultima Online, Zanki Zero and more headline this week's episode of the RPG podcast.

Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey and Nadia Oxford. You can find the previous episodes here.

I'm finally back from GDC, and Nadia and I talk Bard's Tale IV, Ultima Online war stories, and Zanki Zero. Plus, we discuss Ni No Kuni 2's insane opening [download link here].

You've probably seen Ni No Kuni 2's opening by now. I even wrote about it a bit. Now that Nadia has seen it as well, we sit down and discuss it and the tonal whiplash that follows, as well as other observations.

But that's not all! I recently saw Zanki Zero, the new survival RPG by the creators of Danganronpa, and I have thoughts. Plus, I relate some of the best stories from Ultima Online's crazy late '90s run, as well as talk about how Bard's Tale IV reimagines the old-school PC dungeon crawler for the modern day.
