You can now breed dinosaurs in ARK: Survival Evolved

ARK: Survival Evolved players can now breed dinosaurs, which means they will have little ones running around they can take pictures of and shove in the faces of people who don't care that your kid is cute.

That's a bad joke obviously, but yes you can breed baby dinosaurs.

"Survivors will be given the opportunity to pair two members of the same species together, even across Tribes if you’ve got a particularly well endowed creature," reads the update. "This results in offspring with a random selection of traits from both parents, along with a degree of arbitrary mutation.

"Your new tiny friends will grow dynamically in real time and will need to be cared for to reach their ultimate potential."

Players will be able to selectively breed for "desired qualities" and progressively raise generations of Dinosaurs with more "refined collections of high-end traits than that which could ever be found in the wild."

The developer notes the process "cannot be accomplished with minimal effort," as the dangers which exist in the ARK could have a detrimental effect on your little dino sprogs. You know, death and stuff.
