An update for Xbox One will be released today which allows users to upload custom Gamerpics, co-stream using Mixer and plenty of other features.
Along with custom Gamerpics and co-streaming, the Xbox One update includes the ability to see who is competing in Arena, and users can now link a specific controller to an Xbox profile for automatic sign-in.
An update has also been released for the Xbox App on iOS and Android and user generated tournaments for Killer Instinct have arrived.
Microsoft has released all the information and details you need for the update, and you can get more information through the link. That said, we've broken down the important bits for you below.
Upload Customer Gamerpics
Users can now upload customer images to use on their Xbox profile. Gamerpics can be uploaded from the console, Windows 10 PC, or mobile. Customer profile or background pics can also be uploaded for Clubs. Images need to be at least 1080x1080 and in JPG or PNG format.
Sign in seamlessly with the Xbox One controller
Households with multiple controllers can now link a specific Xbox One controllers to their profile. This will allow the user to automatically sign-in with the set profile when turned on. All user have to do is turn the controller on, make sure they are logged into their Xbox account, go to settings, choose "sign in, security and passkey," and then select "this controller signs in.” They will then just need to choose the link controller options and that' it.
Co-streaming on Xbox One, Mixer tab in Clubs
Co-streaming allows the Xbox One user and up to three of friends to broadcast together for a "shared, multi-view experience" on Mixer. Users can invite others to co-stream or to join a co-stream currently in progress from the Xbox One console. Also, with Mixer tabs added with the update, it will be easier for users to find live broadcasts from Club members.
More updates released for Arena
User-generated tournaments for Killer Instinct have arrived on Xbox One. To get started, just head to the Club you’d like to create an Arena tournament for, and select the Tournaments tab. Select Create Tournament and choose the game. From here, it’s the same as it was on the Xbox app. The update also makes it easier to see who is competing in Arena, and who is streaming.
Xbox App on iOS and Android updates
Looking-for-Group requests are "getting more exposure" with the app update along with the ability to share them to the Activity Feed and Messages. Users can create a LFG from a game hub, and then share it to the Activity Feed or to a specific group though Messages. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also now browse the titles in their subscription through the Xbox app.
Also, those who set their phones to a different region or locale separate from their Xbox account can now set the app and store to match their Xbox and purchase content from the console’s region. Finally, the Xbox app on Android is getting a bonus feature this month with Chat Bubbles.
Again, the Xbox One update is rolling out today, so be sure to fire your console up in order to apply the latest features.
