Xbox One X is the fastest-selling Xbox pre-order ever, says Microsoft

Microsoft is calling Xbox One X the fastest-selling pre-order in Xbox history.

In a statement released earlier, the company said that since pre-orders went live on Sunday night, the response has been overwhelming. The Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition has sold out in "many countries" at record times.

In the five days since pre-orders went live, Xbox One X has been pre-ordered more than any other Xbox console. In essence, the entire stock of Project Scorpio Edition is mostly gone. No hard numbers were released.

The company promised to share details next month about the next wave of pre-orders going live for the standard edition.

GameStop and Amazon have also reported high numbers of pre-orders over the past few days, and Microsoft promised to keep retailers stocked.
