Xbox One Black Friday sales broke records in the US, says Microsoft
Microsoft has reported incredible results for its Xbox and Windows brands, across software and hardware, over Black Friday.
Xbox One sold record numbers in the US over Black Friday week, Microsoft has revealed. Xbox One sales climbed 22 percent over the same period last year at retail, which Microsoft says is the second biggest Black Friday week in the brand's history.
The 500GB Gears of War: Ultimate Edition bundle was the top-selling one.
For digital, the Xbox Store sales drove an increase of 57 percent across Xbox 360 and Xbox One, with Gold subscription seeing a 40 percent increase. The storefront itself saw an increase of 55 percent in the number of paid users over Black Friday of last year, across both consoles, an 88 percent growth on Xbox One alone.
On Xbox Live, player hours rose 196 percent compared to Black Friday week of 2014, with Live users totalling 325 million hours across the world during the week.
Windows 10 also saw an uptick, and continues to increase its market share with nearly 30 percent of all Steam users using the OS. The same goes for gaming hours, in which Windows 10 has already exceeded Windows 8.
