Xbox Music releases today on the iOS, Android and the web
Microsoft have announced that the Xbox Music service is now accessible on both iOS and Android as well as a free free on the web.
The updates come as a part of the service reaching its first anniversary and in obvious preparation for the larger presence Xbox Music will have on the Xbox One.
Both the Android and iOS apps require you to have an Xbox Music Pass, which will set you back about $10 every month and neither application currently supports offline playback, although Microsoft has said that feature will be patched in the coming months.
In addition to the existing 30 day trial of xbox.music.com, Microsoft are now also offering 10 hours per month of free streaming from the webapp, albeit only on Windows 8.
Additionally, although Microsoft announced Pandora/Rdio/Spotify style custom radio stations, those are actually set to be implemented later in the year across all platforms.
However, you will now receive Xbox Music results embedded in your Bing results. Look forward to that.
I imagine the largest attraction of Xbox Music as a service is the integration with the titular Xbox, particularly in the upcoming Xbox One. Does that seem like a strong enough reason to switch to Xbox Music?
Thanks, Polygon.
