Xbox Live sees service alert come into effect
As Scooby Doo keeps saying, "wuh roh".
Microsoft's put into affect a service alert for Xbox Live. Currently, the service as it is as well as Marketplace and the Account segments on the Xbox website are greenlit, but Matchmaking currently has a red light beside it in relation to "potential phishing attempts" on Modern Warfare 2.
It reads: "Users may receive potential phishing attempts via title specific messaging while playing Modern Warfare 2.
"We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience"
It comes following a week of horrowing problems for PlayStation Network and the now week-long outage it has lasted. Sony last night confirmed that hackers had gained access to PSN account information, such as names, addresses, passwords and, potentially, credit card details.
PSN was taken offline last week following the detection of an “external intrusion”.
