Xbox Live Rewards offers $15 credit on Halo: The Master Chief Collection this month
The latest Xbox Live Rewards scheme isn't going down well with early Halo: The Master Chief Collection adopters.
If you buy Halo: The Master Chief Collection in December and have an active Xbox Live Rewards account, you'll receive 15,000 points - and that'll score you $15 credit.
The deal also applies to any other Halo content adding up to $59.99 in value.
More information on the deal is available through the Xbox Live Rewards website.
It sounds like a pretty sweet offer but as MP1st reports it hasn't gone down well with early adopters of the Master Chief Collection. Essentially, the deal works out as a $15 discount on the game for those who buy now, whereas those who paid full price have had to suffer through egregious matchmaking issues since the bundle's launch.
According to a number of Reddit reports collated by MP1st, some users have managed to sweet talk or strong arm Microsoft support into awarding them a similar credit in the form of Xbox Live subscription, reversing the Halo: The Master Chief Collection purchase so users can take advantage of the deal with a second buy, or even suggesting they'll be eligible for the points if they follow specific escalation procedures.
Others have not had so much luck. Before you blow your top over the whole thing, do remember that 343 Industries has promised to "make this right with fans".
