Xbox division prepping for "tough times," says Kim
Speaking at a Reuters media summit in New York, Xbox boss Shane Kim said yesterday that Microsoft's entertainment unit is preparing for "tough times" next year, and that he's not expecting the same level of growth seen in the games industry in 2009 as has been seen in 2008.
"Who knows, maybe flat performance will be considered a remarkable achievement," Kim said. "It's difficult to predict the future," he said, adding that the gaming industry has traditionally fared well in economic downturns as people turn to stay-at-home entertainment.
"A big objective for us is to deliver most entertainment value for the dollar," he added.
