WP7 Xbox Companion App lets you control your console with your phone
Not only did Microsoft announce new TV and film partners today, it also revealed a new Companion App for Windows Phone 7 which will allow users to search and control content from Xbox Live Marketplace through their Xbox 360.
Using their phone, folks can search for games, movies, music and more, through “instant access” to the Marketplace. Users can also find out extra details on the current mode of entertainment they are watching or listening to, you are watching or listening to going so far as to list all pertinent information on a particular artist or cast.
It also allows for “Control and Play” which literally turns the Companion App into a controller so users can control their Xbox or video playback instantaneously, just as with the Xbox controller.
The Xbox Companion App is current in beta, and due for release "very soon," as a free download on mobiles running W7.
Thanks, Neowin.
