World of Warcraft Classic players will get a free expansion for hitting level cap

Blizzard is giving a free copy of the World of Warcraft expansion Battle for Azeroth to players who reach the level cap in World of Warcraft Classic.

Those who hit level 60 in the newly launched Classic server will also unlock a free boost that wil get their character to level 110, according to a post on World of Warcraft Brazil's Facebook page. The message, which was first spotted by Wowhead, has since been deleted.

A translation of the post reads: "A toast to 15 years of WoW[.] Upon reaching level 60 in WoW Classic you receive the Battle for Azeroth Expansion and Level 110 Boost."

The race to reach the endgame in World of Warcraft Classic is now underway, and the first player to cross the finish line has already been named. Following an incredible 79 hours of gameplay, a Gnome mage player known as Jokerd on the Mograine EU server hit the MMO's level 60 cap.

WoW Classic launched in August. It is a “re-creation” of the original MMO as it was at the time of its 2006 update Drums of War, returning it back to a time of Onyxia, Duskwallow Marsh questlines, and the olden days of Leeroy Jenkins.
