World of Warcraft Timewalking will make old dungeons fun again
World of Warcraft will soon introduce a feature called Timewalking, designed to make you feel young again.
When WoW players participate in a Timewalking event, they'll be transported to a randomly selected classic dungeon. Upon entering, their level and gear will be scaled way, way down to the Dungeon's Heroic level - so they won't be able to steamroll it.
There's a tasty reward for those who manage to battle through triumphantly: the dungeon loot you receive will be scaled up to your actual level. That means you can acquire high-powered, level 100 versions of gear you outgrew in years past, among other rewards.
Accoridng to an introductory post on Battle.net, Timewalking will be added to the game with patch 6.2.
When the patch lands, Blizzard will begin throwing seven events on long weekends, of which two will be Timewalking events.
You'll need to be level 71 for Burning Crusade dungeons and level 81 for Wrath of the Lich King dungeons. The following dungeons are on the cards:
- The Arcatraz
- Black Morass
- Mana-Tombs
- The Shattered Halls
- The Slave Pens
- Ahn’kahet: The Old Kingdom
- Gundrak
- Halls of Lightning
- The Nexus
- Utgarde Pinnacle
