World of Warcraft players raise $1.9M for Red Cross and Ebola victims

World of Warcraft's latest charity fundraising scheme has been a great success.
New World of Warcraft pet Argi was released to help raise money for the Red Cross, to aid the organisation in its continuing Ebola relief efforts in West Africa.
For one month, Blizzard offered Argi for sale with the intention of donating 100% of the purchase cost - and raised over $1.9 million in the process, according to Battle.net.
"The community embraced this cute little intergalactic nibbler, helping out a great cause in the process. Thanks again to everyone who helped make a difference," Blizzard wrote.
