Woolfe IP bought by Sniper Elite dev Rebellion, Kickstarter rewards to be honoured
Rebellion, developers of the Sniper Elite series, have acquired the Woolfe IP from GRIN.
Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries, the action platformer developed by Grin, wasn't met with a great critical or commercial reception. As a result, the studio announced back in August that it's closing its doors.
Woolfe had initially started as a Kickstarter project, and because of Grin going bankrupt, the studio was unable to fulfil some backer rewards.
Today, Sniper Elite series developer Rebellion announced that it has purchased the IP from Grin, and promised to honour all remaining rewards. Rebellion took the game's Kickstarter page to speak directly to backers, and offered a handy FAQ to help them get in touch regarding their rewards.
"Just because we've joined the Woolfe project much further down the road doesn't mean we shouldn't respect the people who made it happen in the first place. If a backer hasn't received the reward they pledged for, we’re going to do our best to get it to them, even if we have to make it ourselves," said Rebellion's CEO Jason Kingsley.
Rebellion has not yet decided if it's going to continue developing the game, particularly, the second act - which was promised by Grin but never delivered. However, the update promised to offer more details as they're available.
