WiLD has multiplayer, and you can play as a woman who loves frogs
WiLD had already won our hearts, but now it's time to put a ring on it.
Holy s**t cats, did you see the WiLD Paris games Week demo video? You can summon animals and ride around on bears and speak to snake gods, all in a gorgeous open world with a non-linear story. Rayman creator Michal Ancel going indie may be the greatest thing ever to happen.
Anyway, the PlayStation Blog has a few more details on this already intriguing project that make it sound even more amazing.
For one thing, it's going to have multiplayer. This feature is still in the works, but Ancel said he's taking inspiration from Bloodborne (and the rest of the Souls family), and wants to bring "similar ideas to WiLD ... like enabling gamers to invite other players into their worlds to either help or hinder their progress".
For another, you don't have to be the dude shaman in the video: you can be a chick shaman.
And finally, that non-linear thing applies to all aspects of the gameplay. It's not just that you can tackle missions and events as you like, but even the choice of what animals you learn to train is up to you. If you can't be arsed with majestic eagles and cunning wolves, you could just master frogs.
Frogs. You can play a whole game about being a woman who brings other people into their world and then lovingly swarms them with frogs. I love living in the future! It is amazing.
WiLD is coming to PS4 but has not been dated. Could be ages off, unfortunately.
