Happy March! Wow, I can't believe it's already March! It's looking to be another busy month for us at USG, with GDC and PAX East right around the corner. There's also some big games coming out, like Devil May Cry 5 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

For this week's community question, we're turning our focus to the excellent music in games. Or more particularly, the memorable music moments in games. So let us know in the comments: What's your favorite musical moment in a video game?

For as long as I live and breath, I will never get over the opening intro for Telltale's Tales From the Borderlands episode 2 intro. The slow-motion sequence set to Shawn Lee's Ping Pong Orchestra's "Kiss The Sky" is a masterclass of music choice. And that's in a season filled with choice musical cues. This moment alone demonstrated how Telltale understood the best way to adapt the gonzo world of Borderlands was with a Tarantino-esque approach to storytelling.

That part in Kingdom Hearts 3 where Sora, Donald, and Goofy watch the entirety of Elsa singing "Let It Go."

Just kidding. I've actually written about it before, but I love the sequence in the first Red Dead Redemption where John Marston rides home to his family after an entire game spent separated from them. The beautiful song "Compass" plays, with loud triumphant horns as you just gallop through snow, forests, and desert plains to get home. Likewise in Red Dead Redemption 2, the scene where you ride home after Guarma and that killer D'Angelo song plays is another amazing moment. Maybe I remember that one more clearly for another reason though, as you can see above. (Also that house building song, which I will not link because of spoilers, but my god… I love it.)
