What's next for Rainbow Six Siege: Operation White Noise, Operation Chimera and Year 3 road map
Rainbow Six Siege is looking at a busy few months as the tactical multiplayer shooter moves into its third year and shows no sign of slowing down.
Rainbow Six Siege's Year 2 Season 4 update is Operation White Noise, a South Korea-themed expansion.
Operation White Noise brings the usual one map and two operators to Rainbow Six Siege - along with a bonus third operator from Poland (as per the revised Rainbow Six Siege Year 2 Operation Health roadmap).
The new map is called Tower and embraces verticality. As for the operators, Dokkaebi is a hacker with the ability to take down cameras and block enemy communications. Vigil can bypass cameras with a stealth cloak. As previously reported, Zofia uses a double-barrelled grenade launcher.
Operation White Noise arrives on Rainbow Six Siege's PTR later today, so Ubisoft has released a video overview of the new content to help you get to grips with it. Full details can be found on the Rainbow Six Siege website, too.
In addition to the overview video above, hit up the videos below for new Rainbow Six Siege trailers specifically for Dokkaebi, Vigil and Zofia.
It's great to get a proper look at Operation White Noise but Ubisoft also used this weekend's Rainbow Six Siege Pro League finals to talk about what's next for the shooter, providing a first glimpse of the Year 3 roadmap.
Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 kicks off with Operation Chimera, which takes a different approach by "exploring a new fantasy": quarantine and biohazard. Instead of a map, this expansion brings a new event called Breakout, but there will be two operators. They're both biohazard specialists, one each from France and Russia.
Ubisoft doesn't want to talk about Outbreak and Operation Chimera in detail yet, but you can expect full details at the Rainbow Six Siege Invitational in February.
As for the rest of Rainbow Six Siege Year 3, Season 2 will deliver a new Italian map two new Italian GIS Operators. Season 3 will rework an existing map with new gameplay and tactics, while adding an operator each from Scotland Yard in the UK and Delta Force in the US. Season 4 returns to form with a Morocco map and two operators from the Moroccan GIGR.
Sounds like another busy year for Rainbow Six Siege, then.
