What's next for Arma 3?
Arma 3 developer Bohemia Interactive continues its traditions of open communication with a brand new roadmap.
Arma 3 has had a good year, trundling along Bohemia's pre-announced development plan for the military sim. Now the developer is back with a run down of what it expect to achieve over the next 12 months.
There are three major updates on the cards. The first, Nexus, is described as a "stepping stone" for future add-ons, and will further explore gameplay concepts including fatigue and protective gear. It will also expand End Game mode in order to build a solid base for future content, and will be accompanied by Arma 3 Units, a web service designed to failitate groups.
The Eden update is focused on a new 3D scenario editor, and "targets improvements to Arma 3's usability and visual fidelity". It is expected to overhaul multiplayer joins and make a number of usability tweaks such as control mapping.
Both of these updates lead up to Apex, a major expansion. In addition to previously announced content, Bohemia said it wants to expand available armaments and vehicle classes, as well as continue making improvements to the platform as a whole, including more investment in the multiplayer framework.
