Today is a blessed day for Switch ports. After four long years in Wii U exclusivity, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze breaks out of its dead-console prison to join the Nintendo Switch's vast library of games.
Tropical Freeze has long been an underrated entry in the Donkey Kong family of games. It's equally challenging and charming at every turn, and if you missed out, the Switch port frankly shouldn't be missed. No excuses now.
And on the topic of Switch ports, what game(s) would you love to see ported to the Switch next?

Still waiting on Tokyo Mirage Sessions, but Nadia already picked that. So I'm going with two other games that I've been waiting for: the Danganronpa and Zero Escape trilogies. Danganronpa, Danganronpa 2, and Danganronpa V3 I've already purchased on PlayStation Vita and PC, but I oddly can't find the wherewithal to play them. I started Danganronpa on PlayStation Vita, but then the Switch came out and I haven't touched my Vita since.
The Zero Escape games I've heard great things about. Spike Chunsoft even released Zero Escape: The Nonary Games on PC and PlayStation 4, bringing the first two games to the same platforms as Zero Time Dilemma. The problem is the collection came out in late March 2017, and like Danganronpa above, I'm waiting for the Switch version.
For some reason, I just feel visual novels play better on a portable platform and I mentally refuse to return to my Vita. It's my own personal hang-up, but I'd guess that's why everything sells so well on Switch. We're willing to buy things again just for the platform. Make it happen, Spike Chunsoft.

I'll say it for everyone on the team (uh, unless they say it for themselves, of course): Tokyo Mirage Sessions. I personally passed on the game because when it was released, I knew nothing about Shin Megami Tensei or Persona. I've since been educated; the scales have fallen from my eyes. Now I can understand how a mash-up between SMT and Fire Emblem would be the most crazy-amazing thing.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions didn't just get overlooked like a typical Wii U game. At the time of its reveal, the bizarre team-up was scorned ("We don't need this! We need Metroid!"). Every single person I know who's played the game adores it, which means the rest of us are sheepishly asking for a second chance now that the Switch has put Nintendo back in everyone's good graces. I hope we get a big shiny surprise at E3.

I think in a perfect world the entire Wii U library will come to the Switch. While I never regretted not picking up a Wii U, there were titles that had me super interested to play. Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Xenoblade Chronicles X chief among them. I think both games have a pretty good chance at coming to the Switch eventually.
As for non-Wii U games, I'd love to see more multi-platform games come out for the Switch like what Bethesda's done its games. The only thing I wish Bethesda could improve on was lining-up the release dates for all three major consoles. I genuinely might have picked up Wolfenstein 2 for the Switch if it came out at the same time. Same with Dark Souls.
Oh! Speaking of which, I'd love to see all the Dark Souls games on the Switch eventually.

I'd love to see a port of Super Mario Maker, a game I put way too many hours into when it was first out. Super Mario Maker was not only an excellent (no duh) platformer, but it inspired crazy amounts of creativity from its player base. I played so many downright sinister levels, and others that were just wonderfully designed. Also as someone who isn't usually drawn to build-your-own-s**t sorts of games like Minecraft and Dragon Quest Builders, I was obsessed with Super Mario Maker's level designer. Maybe it was because of those amazing costumes that you could unlock; or maybe it was just because of how great and streamlined all the UI and tools were.
Of course, the Wii U Gamepad was integral to the experience, so it'd have to ship with a stylus of sorts for the Switch's own underutilized touch screen. (I think the only game I've played using the touch screen was Voez, a pleasant rhythm game.) I imagine we're more likely to see a Super Mario Maker sequel than a port at this point, but gosh dang it, I want at least something.
Also I'd love some visual novels and otome games. I've only really seen two otome ports hit the eshop, and neither of them looked too amazing. Mike already picked the obvious ones (may I add that Zero Time Dilemma is particularly wild and underrated in the series), but I'd love to see stuff from Idea Factory make its way to Switch too. C'mon Nintendo: stop being a coward and make the Switch the new Vita.
