Watch out for rogue Pikachu with massive Pokeballs if you're a Pokemon Go player living in Basel

Not really. Just once, at least for now.

With Pokemon Go popularity sweeping the globe, it has presented an opportunity for "pranksters" to take advantage of unsuspecting folks with their heads down.

In the city of Basel, Switzerland, a group of folks dressed as Pikachu, can be seen running around in this video tossing super-sized Pokeballs at Pokemon Go players.

According Fadeout, the company which produced the video, it was made in cooperation with the Basel Tourism board. This is why the production values are rather high.

The first victim in the video is seen sitting by a fountain. The Pikachu, pull up in a van, and throw one of the Pokeballs at the fella. It hits him and he falls in the water. Obviously, he isn't pleased about being soaked, and gives chase to the van. Whether this particular incident was staged or not, I have no idea. I would hope so, because that's not a nice thing to do.

He's the only one in the video though who was knocked over by one of the balls. One fella was running down the stairs, which looked a bit dangerous. But he didn't fall.

Whether these are actual surprise pranks or the victims were in on the joke, is no matter really. It's just something fun to watch, which will hopefully give you a chuckle to start the weekend off.
