Watch nine whole minutes of upcoming action RPG Elex
If you've been waiting for more info on Elex, feast your eyes on almost 10 minutes of gameplay from Gamescom.
Nordic Games sci-fantasy action RPG Elex was announced back in May and is set in a large, open-world where "if you can see it, you can reach it."
The premise of a post-apocalyptic world where fantasy meets sci-fi ties neatly into the combat system, which sounds ambitious to say the least. Weapons include typical fantasy fare like swords, bows, and axes, as well as shotguns, flamethrowers, and plasma rifles, and top of all that, there's a whole magic system to play around with.
The gameplay is pre-alpha footage and there's plenty of time for things to change between now and the 2016/ 2017 release window, but when you kick things off with a raptor vs sword fight - now with jetpacks - there's not a whole lot you should be messing with.
There's a huge variety of weapons in the video - including a chainsaw sword - and the armour ranges from something that looks straight out of The Witcher to heavy duty Halo type stuff. It's worth watching the whole thing if you have the time to spare.
Elex is slated for release between mid-December 2016 and mid-March 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
