While you wait for your Fortnite mobile invite, see how it plays on a touch screen in new gameplay

Now that more invites to Fortnite mobile are starting to go out, it's looking more and more like this really is the base game on a touch screen.

Not that there were any particular doubts, but certain limitations in smartphone hardware and input could have lead to changes in Fortnite's battle royale formula.

Fortnite mobile is only available on iOS for now, and you need to sign-up for an invite. Epic seems to be generously sending invites to many of those who sign up, but there's no way to get around that at present.

If you're not currently playing it, you may be interested to see how it runs on phones. We've picked a few gameplay videos from Fortnite players on various iPhones, and it does look like the frame-rate holds up.

You'll notice that the game has new footprints indicators, these alert you when someone is moving close by in case you don't have headphones on. The hit indicator is also more pronounced for the same reasons.

The flow of the mobile port is pretty much identical to the main game, and there doesn't seem like there's anything you won't be able to do on mobile, it's just a matter of get acclimated with the controls.

In this first video from Chaos you'll get to watch a full round from start to finish as he first tries to learn the controls before finally getting comfortable enough with them and killing someone.

He doesn't make it all the way to the end but we get to see how the rest of the game plays out thanks to the spectating feature, which does return.

BULL - Fortnite does a better job in this game, where he uses the rocket launcher for most of it for good effect. It does seem like players take longer to see each other, though that could just be because they're new to the game.
