Warner Bros. Interactive Q1 led by Lego Star Wars
Warner Bros. Interactive's parent company Time Warner has posted its financial results for the first quarter, noting an increase in video games revenue.
Time Warner's fiscal period runs alongside the calendar year. In the quarter ending March 31, it saw an overall year-on-year increase in revenue of six percent to $6.7 billion.
Warner Bros. Interactive falls into the filmed entertainment division, which posted a two percent decrease in revenue from Q1 2010, down to $2.6 billion. However, the report credited the dip to a full film release schedule in 2010, and noted an increase in video game revenue, thanks to Lego Star Wars III: the Clone Wars. No in-depth figures were given.
The second quarter is expected to see better performance thanks to Mortal Kombat, while F.E.A.R. 3 and a Green Lantern tie-in in June should bolster the third. Lord of the Rings: War in the North and Batman: Arkham City should finish the year on a high note.
