Watch the first gameplay for Diablo-like Warhammer: Chaosbane
Warhammer: Chaosbane is the first attempt at creating a top-down action RPG in the Warhammer universe.
Warhammer: Chaosbane is a new game developed by How to Survive's Eko Software. The game was announced in June, but today, we get our first look at its Diablo-inspired gameplay.
The footage below starts off showing the imperial captain class, who's proficient in melee combat. The developer notes that each class will have access to an assortment of skills that complement its play style, but also serve teammates of different classes. The imperial captain, for instance, is good at crowd control.
The game supports local co-op, which you'll see when a high-elf mage joins the fight.
Chaosbane's story is set in the Old World, where the Empire's capital, Nuln, is under attack by acolytes of the Plague Lord Nurgle. Eko is promising other genre stables like diverse classes, a big story campaign, and tonnes of loot.
Warhammer: Chaosbane is coming to PC and consoles in 2019.
