Warframe coming to Xbox One this year - new trailer

Warframe developer Digital Extremes has confirmed it's bringing the free-to-play shooter to Xbox One, following successful launches on PC and PS4. It's out this year and there's a also a trailer for you to check out.

In a press release sent to VG247, Digital Extremes confirmed that the game is part of Microsoft's ID@Xbox program, and will be free to play with Xbox Live Gold. It sees teams of Tenno space ninjas taking down rival races and waging battles using third-person shooting and brutal melee combat.

“Bringing Warframe to Xbox One is a no-brainer,” said Digital Extremes creative director Steve Sinclair. “Our players have been asking for Warframe since the debut of the console and with the ID@Xbox Program, now we can make it happen.

"Having the freedom to develop and publish Warframe on our own terms is the true definition of independence to us. Warframe is a passion project for our team and building it alongside our players is a reality now with digital distribution.”

On Xbox One, Warframe will have DVR functions so players can share their co-op battles with friends, while second-screen SmartGlass functionality will enable players to use the game's Nexus app for Windows Phone, iOS and Android. The app dispenses real time information on the game's items and world, along with stats.
