Vita firmware updated, OS-X Content Manager Assistant released
Just in time for launch this week, a firmware update for the Vita adds in some useful features.
According to the US PS Blog, firmware 1.61 adds the Maps application to the home screen, and updates the Photo app to allow video recording.
When you rate games on the PlayStation Store, you can push the review out to Facebook, and also on the social side, the Near app has been overhauled a little. Up to 100 encountered players will be listed on the Discovery screen, with details of how many times you've met them and links to their profiles.
Finally, the Content Manager Assistant PC client has been updated, and an OS-X version has been released; you can grab that here.
The Vita launches on February 22 in the US and Europe, and February 23 in Australia. If you already have one, you can update to the latest software via the system menu or by connecting to a computer with the Content Manager Assistant installed.
