Visceral: Dead Space 2's max team size was 150
Dead Space 2 producer Shereif Fattouh has told VG247 that the game's team grew to include 150 people at its peak.
Speaking to Brenna Hiller at a press event in Sydney earlier today, he said: "At max, Dead Space 2 was about 150 people. Huge team," he said
Fattouh added that a core team of "11 or 12 people" started out on the series.
"There’s been a core of people who have been on it since the original idea. There was an initial group of 11 or 12 people that really kicked off the franchise, and then I came on a few months after that. And then our team has just grown from there," he said.
"Everybody really has a lot of ownership and feels a lot pride for the game, so I wouldn’t say that it was one person’s baby; everyone really feels engaged with it. I think that kind of shows off in the game. Everyone is definitely into it and feels like it is their game, their franchise."
He continued: "Our team is the game. It isn’t just one person. It’s the whole team. That’s kind of how we feel about it."
Two of the core team Fattouh referred to, Glen Schofield and Michael Condery, have since left Visceral to found Activision upstart Sledgehammer Games, rumoured to be co-developing Modern Warfare 3 with Infinity Ward.
