Videogamer.com claims first 720p video player among UK sites
UK games site Videogamer.com has launched a 720p video player, claiming it's the first in the country to do so.
“I’m really exited at the launch of our HD offerings as we approach our busiest Christmas ever”, said site boss Adam McCann.
“This is also a prime example of how VideoGamer.com is continually diversifying, providing new and unique opportunities to media buyers to market their products online.”
The service has been launched in conjunction with Ubisoft and its Far Cry 2 campaign.

London, England, October 10 2008: VideoGamer.com is proud to announce the launch of its high-definition video player and content in conjunction with Fay Cry® 2. The service is the first of its kind to stream true 720p high-definition video among UK gaming websites.
As well as publishing daily game trailers and other official videos, VideoGamer.com continues to lead the way with its array of in-house video productions, now in true 720p HD, comprising of video reviews, comparisons, and features. Gamers are also able to download HD video or stream an SD alternative.
For game publishers and advertising agencies, VideoGamer.com can now exclusively offer HD video pre-rolls capable of providing gamers with breathtaking visuals which are truly representative of the game, demonstrated by the Far Cry 2 campaign currently running on the service.
The launch campaign was coordinated between Pro-G Media, publisher of VideoGamer.com, and media planning agency Maxus.
