VG247 smashes traffic records in November; 31 million page views, 13 million unique users

Leading video game website VG247 (that's us!) smashed traffic records in November 2018, hitting 31,605,523 page views and 13,879,467 unique users, according to Google Analytics.

That's a year-on-year growth of over 200 percent, and it punts the previous record of 18 million page views into the nearest bin.

With a core team of just seven editorial staff focused purely on video games news, features and guides, VG247 has proven itself to be a destination that speaks directly to millions of players every month.

"We're about video games, 100 percent," said Matt Martin, editor-in-chief of VG247. "If gamers have a question, we answer it for them in detail and without any bullshit.

"We don't artificially inflate our numbers or cover anything other than video games. It's our dedication, and this success shows how a hardcore, laser-focused team can find growth when other sites are struggling to be heard above the whitenoise of the internet."

VG247 is in its tenth year. In 2018 it hired Kirk McKeand as Deputy Editor to work alongside James Billcliffe, Steph Nunnely, Sherif Saed and Alex Donaldson. Lauren Aitken, who joined temporarily to assist with the busy Q4 period, joins the team full-time in January.

"This hugely talented team obliterated expectations in 2018 and proved themselves once again to be at the leading specialist video game writers in the business," added Martin.

"I also need to thank Gamer Network for its continued support and encouragement during its exciting growth year, and of course our loyal readers who come back again and again - without whom we would be nothing."
