VG247 shows 100% YoY growth, passes 2 million unique users in September

VG247 was visited by more than 2 million unique users last month, nearly double the audience recorded in September 2012.

VG247.com broke its previous monthly traffic record in September, recording visits from 2,078,534 unique users and serving 5,405,453 page views.

The metrics are internal, taken from Google Analytics.

The VG247 audience has grown almost 100% from the 1.1 million unique users and 3 million page views announced in September 2012.

Said editor Patrick Garratt: “Passing 2 million monthly unique users is a major milestone for our business."

He added: "Reaching these levels of popularity adds a strong positive note to our impending relaunch. The new site, coupled with the release of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this winter, give us every reason to look forward to continued success in 2014.”

VG247 launched in February 2008, and provides round-the-clock games news reporting from editors in the UK, America, Australia and France.

Patrick Garratt is a games media legend - and not just by reputation. He was named as such in the UK's 'Games Media Awards', the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award. After garnering experience on countless gaming magazines, he joined Eurogamer and later split from that brand to create VG247, putting the site on the map with fast, 24-hour a day coverage, and assembling the site's earliest editorial teams. He retired from VG247, and the games industry, in 2017.
