We get the message. You like looking at VG247 on your phone. Let us help you with that.

Mobile. It's quite important to contemporary media consumption, a little like gravity playing a lasting role in sticking you to terra firma. We were well aware out mobile offering was creaking, so we're pleased to announce today changes to reading VG247 on both iOS and Android, as well as the launch of Games Now, a new mobile games referral service.

  • New VG247 iOS app:

Mobile developer Shane McCafferty, the creator of highly successful iOS games Word Forward and Crobble, has created our first new iOS app since 2012. You can download it now.

Featuring a super-smooth interface, parallax scrolling (I think: the images look very pretty, regardless), in-app sharing and more, the update provides the best experience for viewing VG247 on iOS devices.

  • Games Now - recommendations of the best new iOS games delivered to your phone every week:

Included in the new iOS app is Games Now, a new, opt-in referral service launched in collaboration between VG247 and Shane.

Once you've downloaded the app, simply hit the menu button at the top left and sign up for weekly notifications.

Every Friday you'll receive exclusive access to an article listing our recommendations for the best iOS games of the week, both free and paid, iPhone and iPad. This content is only accessible through the Games Now section of the VG247 iOS app.

Games Now is free. Sign up to make sure you're on top of the latest must-haves in iOS gaming at the start of every weekend.

  • New mobile site:

Finally, Gamer Network code warrior Craig "Monster" Munro has reworked VG247's mobile site into the fastest, clearest, most user-friendly handheld version we've ever had.

Craig's new design includes in-article links for easier browsing, demarcation between the hottest stories and the rest of the feed, and near-instant loading.

It's never been easier to consume VG247's output, whichever screen you choose. More power to you, mobile massive.

Patrick Garratt is a games media legend - and not just by reputation. He was named as such in the UK's 'Games Media Awards', the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award. After garnering experience on countless gaming magazines, he joined Eurogamer and later split from that brand to create VG247, putting the site on the map with fast, 24-hour a day coverage, and assembling the site's earliest editorial teams. He retired from VG247, and the games industry, in 2017.
