Verizon to eventually offer iPad to its wireless customers

Verizon has confirmed it will not only be offering its wireless customers the coveted iPhone, but a version of iPad as well.

While a the news is a bit unsurprising, Verizon's iPad will require a MiFi Mobile Hotspot as an additional device used to connect to Verizon’s network.

However, according to Bloomberg, Verizon plans to make the MiFi connection obsolete in the future once an embedded CDMA chip is attached to the network.

Verizon CFO Francis Shammo declined to elaborate on when iPad will be available through the company, and whether it will skip the first generation of the device, and instead offer the rumored iPad 2 to customers when it becomes available.

Verizon customers will be able to purchase iPhones on February 10.
