Venezuela moves to ban violent games

Venezuela is on the verge of banning all violent "video games and toys," according to the AP. The move's expected to come into force in the coming weeks.

Apparently parents are all for it, but, according to that piece, "critics argue the bill is little more than a public relations stunt by supporters of President Hugo Chavez to camouflage his government's inability to deal with Venezuela's rampant violent crime — the country's most pressing problem according to public opinion polls."
