Vendetta Online getting Oculus Rift support, "graphical and engine changes" for Steam release
Vendetta Online may not have met its Kickstarter goal earlier this year, but it was greenlighted by the community on Steam and its developer Guild Software is giving it a coat of polish with major graphical and engine changes.
The space MMO is also getting Oculus Rift support with its forthcoming Steam release.
The subscription-based sandbox MMO was re-released on Windows 8 and Windows RT in 2012, and according to a newsletter posted by lead developer John Bergman, it's also getting a new client-server architecture in order to "generate massively dense sectors of unlimited scale."
The upgrades will represent the "goals the team set out to build" when it was first developed 16 years ago.
Vendetta Online is a twitch-based, sci-fi subscription MMORPG for Android, Linux, Mac OS X, iOS, and PC which first shipped commercially in 2004, but has been available since 2002.
The game allows subscribers to play with those on all formats.
Thanks, Massively.
