Watch nearly 30 minutes of new Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 gameplay
In celebration of gamescom, Paradox dropped 29 minutes of new Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 gameplay.
Today's big demo shows off a significant chunk of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 gameplay; all the way from conversation and quests to combat, exploration and a bit of a demo of vampire abilities.
The player starts off by picking from three available Thinbloods, and they go with Nebulation, who rely on the us of fog and mists. After a brief bit of exploration, we're introduced to the first character. This appears to be from early on in the story, because the game goes on to introduce several of its mechanics.
Combat kicks in sometime after accepting our first job, and we get to see the different ways of approaching a scenario. It certainly looks a bit clunky in spots, but that is to be expected for an in-development build.
More than anything, though, it's very reminiscent of the original Vampire the Masquerade; almost looks like a full-on remake. The foggy, neon-lit Seattle streets and the dingy, grimy bars and clubs you visit to pick up quests all seem to have made the transition.
You can watch it all below via IGN, though you might want to turn it up a bit.
We recently had a brief look at the game's use of real-time ray tracing.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is out sometime in 2020 for PC and consoles.
