Valve is still working on that Steam UI overhaul
Steam's promised UI update is still in development, even if it seems like we should have seen something of it by now.
Last year, after a new Steam UI first showed up in a client update, Valve removed it, only for the developer to bring it up in a developer-only conference it hosted in July.
The "overall UI refresh", as Valve called, was said to be in development. Though no timetable was shared at the time, many expected it to show up shortly after - at least in some early form.
We're now months away from this announcement and we've yet to see anything. Alden Kroll, a product designer at Valve, was recently asked about it on Twitter (via PC Gamer).
"Yes: We're still working on it," said Kroll. Valve is hosting a developer gathering in Milan on January 22, hence why some took this opportunity to ask Kroll about the goings on at Valve.
He was also asked if we'll be able to mute specific Curators, preventing their recommendations for showing up in the store. This is another thing Valve is working on, according to Kroll.
