Original Text

With July 4 is nearly upon us, Kat and Mike have chosen to celebrate our nation's birthday* with the most freedom-loving game of them all: Broforce.

At 5pm EST/2pm PST, you can hang out with them and talk action games, action movies, and sidescrollers as they play Free Lives Games' indie platformer on USgamer's Twitch channel.

Broforce is an indie-developed platformer that evokes classic shooters like Metal Slug in addition to action movies such as Die Hard and Aliens. Developed by South African indie Free Lives Games, it won first prize at the 2012 Ludum Dare 23 game jam and has since been developed into a full release with online co-op and other elements.

Kat and Mike will be playing a few levels while hanging out with the community and relaxing ahead of the long weekend. Join them, won't you?

* We're all Americans on July 4. We'll even given special dispensation to Belgium.
