US PS Store Update, February 19 - Crysis 3, Patapon 3, Urban Trial Freestyle
This week's US PlayStation Store update is a bit of a PSP love-fest, with rhythm action RPG Patapon 3 charging onto the Vita.
Crysis 3 is the only full PlayStation 3 release to debut this week, but Urban Trial Freestyle, which looks like a knock off of XBLA's Trials, has arrived, and so has Capcom's Arcade Cabinet, a free download with 1943, Avengers and Black Dragon, plus many other titles available through DLC.
Urban Trial Freestyle is also available for Vita but never mind that - Patapon 3 is out. This PSP classic is probably the best in the series, and has you banging a drum to issue commands to a little part of warriors, whom you level up, equip, and generally care for. Have I mentioned everyone is an eyeball and you are a god. And the drums? It's the best.
However, two more PSP games make up what is an unusually heavy release week for the ageing handheld - Generation of Chaos: Pandora's Reflection (which is also available for Vita) and Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi.
This week's free PlayStation Mobile title is OMG Zombies, rounding out a good week for portables all round.
Elsewhere, pick up Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and its season pass in a bundle, or grab both Smash Cars and Skyfighter in one handy package.
PlayStation Plus subscribers get Platinum Games' excellent Vanquish for free, as well as Mega Man maverick Hunter X for PSP/Vita and a starter pack for DUST 514. Urban trail Freestyle is discounted on both PS3 and Vita.
A demo is available for Urban Trial Freestyle on the Vita, and a PS3 demo gives a taste of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3.
On the DLC side, there's content for Assassin's Creed 3, Capcom Arcade Cabinet, Dead or Alive 5, DmC: Devil May Cry, DUST 514, Guardians of Middle-Earth, Pinball Arcade, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet Karting, Metal gear Rising: revengeance, Ragnarok Odyssey, Resident Evil 6, Rock Band 3, RockSmith, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Decade Duels Plus and Zombie Driver HD.
There's also a pile of DLC for new PSP release Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi. I had forgotten it could do that.
