Unsung Story: No side quests at launch, world map to look like Final Fantasy Tactics
Tactical RPG, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians will have a world map that is similar to that of Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre. In addition, the game will not contain any side quests on launch, with the possibility of adding them in future expansions, designer Yasumi Matsuno has confirmed.
Matsuno has once again answered more fan questions about the upcoming RPG on the game's Kickstarter page. He confirmed that although the map will be similar to that of Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre, the game will not let you move from town to town, rather, from time to time and that at any given time you will have a range of battles to choose from.
On the subject of battles, the designer said that the players will be able to choose which battles to participate in with no evasion mechanics. The monsters the player will fight will have a constant level and will not scale with the player level. He then added that each stage will have five difficulty levels and that you will unlock a higher a difficulty level when you finish the one before it.
Matsuno added that he's also experimenting with different ideas, such as the effect of altitude on the battle.
