Unity headed to PS4, PS3, Vita, PS Mobile and future cloud services

Sony and Unity have signed a strategic agreement delivering the popular Unity engine to a variety of Sony platforms.

Gematsu reports Unity will hit the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Vita and PS Mobile platforms with "optimized deployment".

Interestingly, the announcement makes note of future cloud services, too; Sony has made much of its integration of Gaikai tech into the PlayStation Network, potentially allowing for instant games streaming, so presumably this is what Unity is referring to.

As well as the ease of development the Unity engine offers would-be PlayStation developers, it also makes it simpler to port existing games developed using the near-ubiquitous tech.

Unity for PlayStation is expected to launch in northern autumn. Nintendo signed a similar deal with Unity, but offers a free engine license with all Wii U dev kits to help entice indies to the new console.
