UKIE to give gamescom, GDC Europe funding through UKTI

UKIE's been announced as the Approved Trade Organisation by UKTI for gamescom and GDC Europe, offering UK-based retailers funding for the show.

The news means UKIE will front the UK games industry stand at the Cologne-based events. There's also the chance to gain an extra £1000 in UKTI match funding.

"UKIE is really pleased to be working with UKTI to support UK companies who want to do business at these two leading shows," said UKIE CEO Jo Twist.

"We would like to thank UKTI for its generous support of the games industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for the UK games and interactive entertainment industry to showcase its outstanding work to the rest of the world."

The special funding package for the shows will include travel costs, VIP entry into gamescom and food vouchers.
