UK postal strike threatens to scupper Call of Duty: Ghosts launch, retail fights back

The Royal Mail has a strike scheduled for November 4, which is the day before Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on current-gen machines and PC. But rather than let this delay customers getting their hands on it, online retailers are already working on alternative delivery options, even if it costs them.

"Whilst a strike isn’t a foregone conclusion, we’re working closely with Royal Mail and other couriers on the situation to make sure our pre-order customers get their orders on release day,” said GAME marketing director Ailsa McKnight to MCV.

Amazon said, "If one of our carriers was unable to provide delivery services, we would employ contingency plans which include routing orders through our other carrier partners."

MCV also spoke to Sainsbury's, The Hut, and GameStop, who all asserted that they'll find a way to get Ghosts into your sweaty, shaking hands.

Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on November 5. The next-gen version accompanies the console launches.
