UK games industry survey shows salaries are down 1% since 2008
A survey conducted by MCV and Develop on the the salaries of folks working in different sectors of the UK games industry, showed that pay is down overall by one percent.
Using answers supplied by 399 UK workers in publishing, retail, development, services, PR, marketing and games media, the results revealed prospects for the 2010 job market.
Apparently, in 2009 there was no salary growth, with average pay for the year coming in at £31,655 compared to £31,370 in 2008. When executive salaries were taken into account, the 2009 average rose to £37,352.
US participants were asked the same questions, with those figures expected to be revealed next week. However, MCV reports that when you include both the US and UK figures, the median average is £31,509 and the mean is £40,467.
